Researching Rio
A very quick question - I'm doing a little bit of research for GERA and am sending a call out to anyone who happens to have visited or, even better, lived in, Rio de Janiero. Specifically, I'm looking for physical descriptions of the Barra da Tijuca section of town. Can anyone help me out? Leave a comment or send me an email if you've been there.

I am having a bit of luck lately with Google Earth for that type of thing(to an extent), wondered if that might help.

Thanks for the info Dave. I hadn't even heard of Google Earth, believe it or not. But, I've just downloaded it and hopefully it'll help.

I thought Google Maps/Earth only had North American and European areas? Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, might be too obvious to point out, but did you try googling it? And checking out google images? This site (http://james.lab6.com/2003/08/13/barra/) came up second and has some good descriptions - check the comments at the bottom of the page too.
Thanks for the link, I didn't come across it when I was searching (I should probably stop using Yahoo).
And yeah, Google Earth is global.
